- Journal One: Cyrano is clearly intended to be a hero in the play bearing his name. What heroic qualities does he have? What are some examples of when he shows these qualities in the play thus far?

- Paragraph Two: Focuses on the passage you have identified from The Iliad, analyzing the rhetorical features of the writing that make it effective.
- Paragraph Three: Focuses on the passage you have identified from All Quiet On the Western Front analyzing the rhetorical features of the writing that make it effective.
- Paragraph Four: Conclusion sums up your findings about what makes the passages effective, perhaps offers comparisons or contrasts between the methods of the two authors, gives you the opportunity to sum up what you have noticed or learned.
- Journal Four: Please submit the rough draft of your Historical Fiction Project. Be sure that you have two "enters" between each paragraph.
- Journal Five: What is one commentary Animal Farm makes on history, human society, or human government? (Can you think of something the book is satirizing?) Cite one example from the book and one example from history or current events in support of your answer.
